Benjamin Thomas "BenBarnes  (born 1981) 


Barnes is known for his portrayal of Caspian X in The Chronicles of Narnia films Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, for playing the title character in the 2009 adaptation of Dorian Gray, for his supporting roles in the films The Words and The Big Wedding, and for his portrayal of American Founding Father Samuel Adams in the 2015 miniseries, Sons of Liberty.

Barnes was educated at Homefield Preparatory School an independent school for boys in Sutton.  

Sir Harry Donald SecombeCBE (1921 – 2001) 

Comedian and singer. 

Secombe played Neddie Seagoon, a central character in the BBC radio comedy series The Goon Show (1951–60). He also appeared in musicals and films and, in his later years, was a presenter of television shows incorporating hymns and other devotional songs.

The Secombe Theatre in Sutton, London, bears his name in memory of this former local personality.

Dame Penelope Anne Constance KeithDBEDL (born 1940) 


Keith is best known for her roles in the British sitcoms The Good Life and To the Manor Born.

She was born in Sutton in 1940.
