Joan Anita Barbara Armatrading, MBE (born 1950)

As a three-time Grammy Award-nominee, Armatrading was nominated twice for BRIT Awards as Best Female Artist. She also received an Ivor Norvello Award for Outstanding Contemporary Song Collection in 1996.
In a recording career spanning 40 years, Armatrading has released 18 studio albums, as well as several live albums and compilations.
Armatrding lived in Sutton during the 1970's.

Ketevan "Katie" Melua (born 1984)
(singer, songwriter and musician)
She moved to Northern Ireland at the age of eight and then to England at fourteen where she attended Non-Such Girls School. Under the management of composer Mike Batt made her musical debut in 2003.
In 2006, she was the United Kingdom's best-selling female artist and Europe's highest selling European female artist.

The Rolling Stones (formed 1962)
The Rolling Stones were discovered at the then Red Lion pub (now the Winning Post) in Sutton. The pub was also where Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman became permanent members of the group on 23 January 1963
