Craft Theatre company member Helen Foster transfers her one-woman family-friendly show The Diver to Sutton from central London this July – an underwater adventure story following explorer Kate Plank as she attempts to walk across the Atlantic Ocean floor from England to New York.
The Diver is a playful, imaginative show drawing on puppetry, physical theatre and clowning to explore the depths of the Ocean and the fear that can stand in our way. Follow Kate Plank’s incredible adventure and ask yourself: what perils will she face?! Will she arrive safely on the other side?! Will the audience drown?!! (unlikely – most water is imaginary).
DANTE’S INFERNO: A MODERN TELLING
On 16 and 17 October the performance will be on the double bill with Craft Theatre’s production of Dante’s Inferno. There will be 30 minute interval between two performance which you can spend in our new Pop-Up Bar at the Cryer.
If you think Dante’s Inferno doesn’t need another postmodern kooky reworking, think again. In the capable hands of Craft Theatre, Dante Alighieri’s masterpiece is intense, compelling and – crucially – a pleasure to watch. We all have our circles of hell to surmount in everyday life. 700 years on, Inferno is as relevant as ever.
